1st Thursday Happy Hour: Intent-driven AI Copilots for Wireless IoT
Hosted by IoT Texas
Hybrid event; online and in-person at SpringHill Suites Dallas Richardson/Plano, 3251 E. Pres. George Bush Fwy., Richardson
6 to 7:30 p.m.
IoT networks generate tremendous amounts of data. Applying AI at the network level using LLMs for data trend analysis, predictive analytics and issue identification seems a direct application of AI for such networks. However, where things get interesting is when AI needs to be applied at the edge or on the IoT device itself, where there are restrictions on compute, memory, latency, power and cost. These lead to new “intent” driven IoT applications with co-pilots that enable voice, chat, or text-based control and analysis for embedded systems.
Imagine a microwave could operate by simply asking it to cook food for a minute, or analyzing and controlling the crop health or irrigation needs for an agricultural sensor network by specific queries and instructions. These require tiny LLMs or tinyML agents running on the embedded devices that can be trained on the specific device and provide local operational intelligence. This talk will provide insights into the benefits and challenges of building such AI co-pilots for wireless IoT systems. Featured speaker is Sridhar Rojogopal, CEO of Ennoia Technologies, a startup developing AI co-pilots for wireless.
These are free monthly events, with bar items available for purchase. For those who join in person, it’s an opportunity to network with IoT professionals, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. The bar opens at 5 p.m. so you can come early and stay late.

Triumph of Economic Freedom: Debunking the Seven Great Myths of American Capitalism
Hosted by The Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom at SMU
Crum Auditorium, Collins Executive Education Center, SMU, Dallas
Save the date
Join the Bridwell Institute for a conversation with former Texas Senator Phil Gramm, one of America’s premier public policy advocates. His new book (coauthored with Donald J. Boudreaux) looks at the seven events and issues in American history that define, for most Americans, the role of government and how the 21st century world works. To many Americans, these 5 periods of American history-the Industrial Revolution, Progressive Era, Great Depression, decline of America’s postwar preeminence in world trade, and the Great Recession—along with the existing levels of income inequality and poverty, represent strong evidence for expanding government in American life. Gramm and Boudreaux argue that the evidence points to a contrary verdict: government interference and failed policies pose the most significant threat to economic freedom.
Events are 4:00 pm Reception (with book signing) and a 5:00 pm Lecture at Crum Auditorium, Collins Executive Education Center, SMU.

Hope is more than wishful thinking—it’s a force for transformation. When we act on hope, we drive economic growth, advance justice, and strengthen communities. Hope doesn’t just help us endure uncertainty—it compels us to act against it.
As philanthropists, civic leaders, and corporate changemakers, we have a unique opportunity. When we align our resources and vision, hope becomes collective action. This conference explores how we transform shared aspirations into measurable impact. The question is not whether hope matters, but how we put it to work.
